Summary

As the named information security officer at Guardsquare, you have the unique opportunity to help a growing software security company mature its cybersecurity program. You will implement appropriate security controls to ensure business continuity and increase customer confidence in our products and services.

You own the strategy for information security at Guardsquare by continually evaluating the organization using relevant security controls frameworks, prioritizing a roadmap that matures security controls commensurate with the business risks and needs. You will also be critical in guiding cross-functional teams on appropriate solutions to meet security controls requirements. This will require a deep understanding of how a modern software product company operates, tailoring the security controls and tooling to ensure they are pragmatic, not reducing the effectiveness and pace of the teams.

The right candidate is knowledgeable about security, passionate about helping a company quickly scale to meet the demands of a mature SaaS business and can engage with stakeholders across the company to achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Assess and develop a cybersecurity strategy based on relevant industry standard security controls frameworks


• Create a prioritized roadmap jointly with the executive team and senior leaders of the company


• Provide practical guidance on applying policies, procedures and selecting security tooling that fits a fast-paced, modern software engineering organization


• Provide leadership in developing incident response plans and managing communications in coordination with executive team


• Maintain up to date, customer facing material to answer routine inquiries on the security program


• Help the organization prioritize and plan any future certification efforts as the security program matures

Profile

• Background in leadership and management to effectively direct and support cross-functional teams and resources


• 3-5 years experience in Information Security in a technical software product company


• Experience with IT security controls, tooling, and application security concepts, supporting all platforms (Windows, MacOS and Linux)


• Ability to efficiently communicate complex concepts to various audiences and stakeholders


• Passion for delivering a security strategy that balance risk tolerance with company ambitions
