STR is seeking a Personnel Security (PERSEC) Specialist for our Arlington, VA or Woburn, MA office. As a PERSEC Specialist, you will work the “day-to-day” PERSEC services for Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities. These activities include processing Program Access Requests (PARs), managing program personnel databases, providing guidance regarding the SAP nomination process, conducting briefings and debriefings, and additional administrative tasks for multiple government customers, including visit certifications, foreign travel reports, and adverse information reports.
The successful candidate will develop a full understanding of 5220.22-M NISPOM, 5205.07 DoD Manuals Volumes 1-4, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and related Industrial Security Guidance Manuals or Special Program Security directives, in support of USG compliance inspections.
Requirements:
- Maintain various daily logs for a variety of administrative functions associated with PERSEC
- Maintain an extensive customer database point of contact listing
- Perform data entry to the Joint Access Database (JADE) and maintain all customer sponsored billets and quota information
- Assist in maintaining personnel security files for all personnel of the supported element
- Build and Maintain tracking spreadsheets/databases for customer PERSEC activities
- Provide support for the security awareness and education programs
- Review, track, and monitor security clearance processing activities with appropriate government personnel to achieve clearance actions
- Prepare, process, and/or review PARs for accuracy and access eligibility
- Execute SAP nomination process questionnaires
- Conduct SAP nomination process (SAPNP ) and Personnel Security Questionnaire (PSQ) reviews of candidates being submitted for SAP access
- Perform data entry and record checks in JADE and maintain all customer sponsored personnel access information
- Receive and/or transmit classified visit requests as necessary to meet customer needs
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2-4 years of equivalent work experience
Preferred:
- US Citizenship
- Active Top-Secret Clearance
- Must be familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate ICDs/DOD Manuals and other guiding policy documents.
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, etc.)
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Understanding of government guidance to include the NISPOM and DoD
- Experience with SIMS, DISS, and JADE databases
