Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Security Service Technician to join our team and support the repair and maintenance of security systems, with a focus on CCTV. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach. The technician will primarily travel to client sites within a 15-mile radius to service and support installed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems, including analog and IP-based systems.
Perform routine maintenance and system checks to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions and connectivity issues.
Replace or upgrade cameras, cabling, DVRs/NVRs, and related components as needed.
Document service activities and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding system status, repairs, and recommendations.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in clean and serviceable condition.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in servicing and repairing CCTV systems.
Strong knowledge of video surveillance equipment, wiring, and network configurations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Basic networking skills, including IP addressing and troubleshooting connectivity.
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be able to travel locally within a 15-mile radius on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with access control or alarm systems a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ESA, IPVM, or manufacturer-specific training) preferred.
Familiarity with major CCTV brands such as Hikvision, Axis, Dahua, or Avigilon.
