Search Yemen is seeking highly qualified individuals for the following position:

Organizational Responsibilities
Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
Commit to implementing the goal of gender equality and maximize the participation and involvement of women and men in all aspects of program implementation.
Ensure a safe working environment for all people involved in project implementation and maintain the highest standards of behavior when working with the community targeted.
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in Search policies and procedure manuals.
Follow all organizational protocols and regulations according to guidance provided by the HR department.

Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the country director, the Security and safety officer will be responsible for undertaking ongoing analysis of the context and developments in relation to the security environment in project target areas, developing and maintaining up-to-date context analysis, risk assessment, and incident reporting system national wide to maintain a safe work environment for Search team. Coordinate with other INGOs and UN agencies on security and information sharing. He/ She will undertake regular and ad hoc safety and security assessments as necessary in order to gather information and to analyze the overall situation in existing and potential areas of intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and update safety and security SOPs, plans, and forms.
  • Ensure safety, security and protection of Search staff, and assets.
  • Minimize personal and operational risks on Search staff, partners, and operations.
  • overall coordination and supervise Search Aden office and guest house security arrangements and personal
  • Actively promote security awareness among staff.
  • Ensure that all staff are provided with required security and safety trainings and coordinate these trainings.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date context analysis and risk assessment.
  • Develop and maintain an incident reporting system.
  • Maintain close contacts with all relevant stakeholders to develop networks and build relationships with key actors to ensure gathering of reliable information. The above includes regular participation to in-country related meetings.
  • Undertake regular and ad hoc assessment field trips as necessary, in order to gather information and to analyze the overall situation in existing and potential areas of intervention.
  • Coordinate with and inform senior management on risks in the operation context-related on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that the security management system complements the  projects implementation.
  • Ensure the security management system is in line with existing Search for Common Ground security policy, protocol, and approach.
  • Support Search crisis management team to manage security incidents and crisis situations.
  • Provide advice on destinations, accommodation, car rental programs, and flights.
  • Support in facilitating travel arrangement, briefing and related matters.
  • Independently prioritizes time to reach deadlines and reaches end results of assignments with ability to accomplish multiple steps with limited to no supervision
  • Participate in team planning review and lead key security planning in line with the organization’s strategy
  • Establish or reinforce relations with government administrative bodies
  • Ensure proper filing of Management system of security-related information and documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor and CD.

  • Qualifications
  • Meet the following qualifications:
  • Education
  • BA degree or equivalent experiences.

  • Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 6 years professional experience in safety and security
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in risk management.
  • Previous experience with INGOs.
  • Demonstrated reporting skills and the ability to capture results.
  • Ability to analyze and present information in a clear manner.
  • Demonstrated English reporting and computer skills (Word and Excel).
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Discipline and punctuality.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the country.
  • Fluency in English and [local language] (both written and spoken).
