We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Information Security Operations Engineer to join our growing security team. This position will focus on developing and maturing our detection engineering infrastructure and threat visibility capabilities. The ideal candidate will take ownership of our SIEM and build out improved threat detection and response capabilities for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SIEM Management: Manage and maintain Entrata’s SIEM solution, including data ingest pipelines, alerting triage processes, data enrichment flows, and data integrity checks
  • Alert Creation and Tuning: Develop and refine the alerting capabilities within our SIEM to create high confidence detections across all of our data sources
  • Detection Engineering: Maintain and deploy additional technologies and strategies to improve Entrata’s ability to detect threats in its various environments
  • Security Monitoring and Alert Triage: Monitor cloud, application, and business resources for security threats and vulnerabilities, and respond to alerts and incidents promptly.
  • Active Threat Hunting: Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to search for potential active threats within Entrata’s systems.
  • Incident Response and Forensics: Participate in incident response activities, such as investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery in case of security incidents.
  • Security Reports: Generate and share regular security reports and findings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Training and Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in cloud security and obtain relevant certifications as needed.

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in a Security-related field. At least 2 years of experience in a Security Operations Center or other detection-focused role.
  • Strong interest in information security, particularly in detection engineering
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM.
  • Basic understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, CIS AWS Foundations).
  • Knowledge of common security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of general systems administration and basic networking concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+, are a plus.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with Splunk or a similar SIEM tool
  • Experience with cloud security tools and technologies
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation for security tasks (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of threat detection and incident response processes.
  • Awareness of cloud compliance and audit procedures.
  • Familiarity with security tooling such as Wiz, Splunk, or other open source equivalents
