As a Proofpoint Threat Analyst, you will join a team of dynamic and creative threat researchers focused on finding malware, understanding how it works and using that knowledge to improve our products. This team is responsible for a 24/7 follow-the-sun model with team members spread across diverse timezones. The team focuses on malware threats analysis, phishing threats analysis, APT campaign analysis, reverse engineering, actor tracking, campaign creation for customer dashboards, and blogging. We are looking for someone passionate and capable in these areas to help us produce a more complete understanding of the threat landscape, better inform our customers, and improve our product offerings. You will focus on campaign creation and documentation for customer dashboards, and threat analysis. Monitor internal malicious data feeds as well as external intel sources to identify interesting threats

Perform analysis (including behavioral) of malware, binary formats and network protocols using industry-standard tools

Document relevant campaigns in internal tools and customer-visible dashboards

Create and maintain technical documentation of malware and actors for customers and internal teams

Collect and query large datasets to uncover trends and patterns in attacker behavior

Act as a subject matter expert for occasional inquiries by internal engineering, marketing, and sales teams

Write blog posts and/or present findings at security conferences

A passion for research and uncovering the unknown about threats and threat actors

Good verbal & written communication skills

Being a hard-working, self-directed team player

Familiarity with following: malware sandboxing, threat intelligence gathering and organization, data analysis

Experience working remotely for a large information security vendor

Located in a US or UK time zone
