The Role:
 
The Peerspace Engineering team is focused on providing a secure, reliable and maintainable platform for our engineering, product and operations teams to build and deliver applications out into the world. We have always focused on building security and stability from the ground up, and for this reason this role is foundational to us.
 
Peerspace is looking for an IT-Operations and Security Engineer to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for leading the IT function at our company, ensuring that systems are in place to onboard and offboard team mates securely, manage integrations with single sign-on systems, manage a fleet of devices, and provide IT support for our 100+ team mates. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our IT/Endpoint systems and processes, and for driving continuous improvements through automation and innovation. This would be a great role for someone interested in all things cloud, security and DevOps as you work closely with the Infrastructure and Security teams, as well as with HR.  Be a collaborative partner who enjoys problem solving. You should be someone who is interested in the broader vision but also willing to be directly involved in implementation.  You should be someone who always keeps the integrity of the system top of mind in all aspects of your work.  You should be the go to person for products and services you are responsible for.  This role offers the chance to join a dynamic and expanding team, and to gain exposure to various facets of IT, infrastructure, security, and DevOps. You will have the opportunity to wear multiple hats and contribute to different areas of the company's technology operations.
 
Responsibilities:
 
    Manage the day to day of IT/Endpoint operations, including hardware, software, network, security, and cloud infrastructure
    Design and implement IT/Endpoint strategies, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiency and productivity
    Automate as many IT/Endpoint functions as possible, including provisioning, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting
    Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations
    Provide global technical support to remote employees and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.  This may include occasional off-hours work to accommodate time zone differences.
    Conduct regular audits and assessments of IT/Endpoint systems and processes to identify areas for improvement
    Provide support for SaaS tools used by our organization, including our own custom admin tool, 1Password, Zendesk, Salesforce, Periscope, Zoom and many others. Create and implement software tool usage protocols and account management policies.
    Manage, maintain and support networks and VPNs.
    Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
    Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in IT/Endpoint and make recommendations for improvements as needed
 
Qualifications:
 
       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant experience in lieu of a degree
       5+ years of experience in IT/Endpoint management or a related field
       Strong technical skills and knowledge of IT/Endpoint systems, networking, security, and cloud infrastructure
       Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash
       Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and related technologies such as Google Workspace, Okta, etc.
       Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and preferably GCP, including proficiency in deploying, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and services.
       Experience with both MacOS and Windows
       Experience with ethernet / networking setups (VPN, subnets, workgroups, etc)
       Experience with Airwatch / JAMF / MDM solutions
       Ability to work cross-functionally
       Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently
       Experience managing purchases, related logistics, and working with vendors
       Adept at building relationships and fostering a positive team environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive results.
       Experience managing IT for remote teams and relevant logistics in an international setting
       Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, remote environment
