Summary:
Allegiant Travel is an integrated travel company and airline which at its heart, is focused on connecting customers with the people, places, and experiences that matter most. Allegiant Air has linked travelers in small to medium cities to world-class vacation destinations with all nonstop flights and industry-low average fares. Currently, Allegiant services 136 destinations in the US with new destinations being routinely added.  

As an intern, you will be a member of our Information Security Engineering team. This position provides hands-on experience that utilizes your academic skills and helps refine your future career aspirations. You will have the opportunity to learn how Allegiant operates its information security engineering program for the airline, while working in an inclusive atmosphere that encourages growth and provides valuable one-on-one time with highly skilled senior engineers in the industry. They will guide you as you learn by doing, helping you rapidly acquire new skill sets and refine your career trajectory.  

During your internship, you will learn first-hand how engineering integrates with incident response, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the entire engineering process. You will also be introduced to the exciting world of DevSecOps, where you will learn about the integration of security practices into the DevOps process. By gaining this knowledge, you will gain the necessary mindset to feed the innovation enterprises need in their Infosec Engineering programs.

Minimum Requirements:
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. 

Education: 
High School Diploma/GED 

Education Details: 
Currently enrolled or recently graduated with a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited program. Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Compliance, or closely related program. 

To be qualified to apply intern candidates should be currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate within the last six months with a GPA of 3.0 or higher 

Self-motivated and hard-working. 
Strong critical thinking skills. 
Excellent attention to detail. 
Basic understanding of technology. 


Preferred Requirements:
Degree in Information Security or Compliance. 

Job Duties:
Learn how to maintain on premise and cloud firewall policies. 
Participate in VPN and access control configurations.  
Learn how to configure firewalls for deployment. 
Learn how to manage detective controls in our AWS environment.  
Work on at least one major deployment/upgrade project for the program.  
Gain hands-on experience in Allegiant's Information Security Engineering team to better understand how enterprise programs are implemented.  
Become knowledgeable of Agile Scrum cadences and participation.  
Learn how the information security engineering program operates and participate in project work. 
Work with senior engineers to refine skills and career trajectory.  
Understand the integration of engineering with incident response.  
Explore the world of DevSecOps and the integration of security practices.  
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the engineering process.  
Gain the necessary mindset to drive innovation in Infosec Engineering programs. 
Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
