Listing Description
As a Network Security Engineer, you will perform a variety of technical and operational duties in support of the company’s networking and security practice. This position requires a candidate who is motivated and passionate about network security concepts such as LAN/WAN and SD-WAN. In addition, this position requires a candidate with excellent communication and presentation skills who can engage with clients.
Responsibilities
Spearhead technical dialogues to decipher business needs, transforming them into functional specifications, including crafting Statements of Work (SOW) and Bills of Materials (BOM) for clients.
Offer seasoned network engineering consultation (e.g., assessment and design) alongside robust implementation services for contemporary secure networking ecosystems.
Work alongside other engineering resources
Conduct in-depth root cause analysis for critical outages and incidents, ensuring optimal network performance and security.
Configure Fortinet firewall and security solutions.
Maintain evolving industry certifications and participate in continuous professional development.
Requirements
Extensive experience with network appliances from leading technology vendors like Fortinet and Cisco.
Proficiency in Fortinet's products and solutions is highly valued.
Fortinet NSE 4 certification is strongly preferred
In-depth understanding of network engineering, security (endpoint and network firewall) architecture and design
Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN administration and concepts including DHCP, DNS, VLAN's, firewalls, NAT, wireless technology, and the ability to configure switches required. Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining SD-WAN highly desired.
Experienced with implementation of both network and security technologies
Ability to quickly analyze and assess issues and collaborate in real time
Ability to author and follow defined processes and procedures
Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team to achieve objectives
Ability to follow defined methodologies to ensure a successful outcome of delivery engagements
Up-to-date understanding of modern security threats and defense methods
Able to clearly communicate detailed technical concepts in both oral and written formats
Thorough understanding of modern routing and switching technologies including cloud networking concepts
Proven track record in guiding clients through the evaluation and selection of technical solutions to address business requirements in a consultative manner.
