AssetMark seeks a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious Senior Network Security Engineer who will work alongside the IT teams to ensure maximum performance of the AssetMark Public and Private Cloud infrastructure while maintaining high levels of network security from a WAN/LAN/Cloud perspective. The ideal candidate for the position of Network Security Engineer is agreeable, helpful, and efficient as well as having in-depth knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Networking, and F5 load balancers.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with Architecture, Security, Infrastructure Services, and App Dev teams to choose appropriate technology solutions and facilitates complete integration into the AssetMark Cloud environments
  • Support network security of Datacenter, Office, Azure and AWS Cloud environment and services 
  • Document firewall services problem/resolution and maintain Runbook documentation
  • Monitoring and ensuring regular updates to all firewalls
  • Troubleshoot firewall related problem areas and issues as needed to resolve operational issues and restore/optimize services
  • Administration of firewall rules & services tagging, grouping, cleanup
  • Manage firewall vendor relations and accounts
  • Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot rules within F5 load balancers
  • Ensure F5 load balancers are updated regularly and running in a highly available manner
  • Create and maintain custom applications to ensure 100% network security & integrity

    • Required Skills & Experience:
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with Palo Alto firewalls
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with BIG-IP/F5 load balancers
  • 5+ years working in complex networking environments supporting a variety of services
  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills needed to present within the business and across all mediums
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote capacity and onsite in office location, as well as work with diverse set of team members in a variety of locations/time zones
  • Thorough knowledge of Palo Alto Strata series, PAN-OS, Panorama, SD-WAN, Threat Prevention, Global Protect, DNS Sec, Wildfire, URL Filtering and through knowledge of Palo Alto Prisma VM-Series
  • Through knowledge of IP-Sec Site-to-Site VPN Tunnels, Global Protect Portals/Gateways and experience supporting large amount of Client VPN users in remote capacity
  • Through knowledge of High Availability (HA) configurations as well as Active/Active designs
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic to complex network configurations, virtual routing, dynamic routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, as well as static routing
  • Through knowledge of Data center route/switch along with Catalyst/Nexus Cisco equipment including vPC, STP, Port Channel, CDP/LLDP, Highly Available designs & strategies.
  • Through knowledge of Cisco Meraki wireless
  • Through knowledge of BIG-IP/F5 load balancers and able to create complex rule sets
  • Knowledge and familiarity with adjacent technology areas including Network, Security, Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Monitoring
  • Ability to support ongoing team initiatives and projects and other duties as assigned.

    • Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related technical field
  • Certification – PCNSA – Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator
  • Certification – PCNSE – Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer
  • Certification – CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate
  • Certification – CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • Certification – F5 Technical Specialist Track
