As an Sr. Information Security Engineer within the ThinkOn’s Corporate Security, you play a vital role as a part of a dedicated team responsible for managing IT security for our customers. Your mission is to minimize the impact of security incidents and system breaches. As a cohesive unit, we provide comprehensive security monitoring, conduct thorough event investigations and analyses, and devise effective countermeasure plans and actions. 
 
Additionally, as an Sr. Information Security Engineer, you contribute to the team's responsibilities, which include maintaining the 24/7 operation of our Security Incident and Response Management service and overseeing Vulnerability Management. Your expertise and dedication are crucial to our mission of safeguarding ThinkOn’s and Client’s digital assets and ensuring the continued integrity of their IT environments.

You Will:
  • 5-8 years of experience to lead and contribute to enterprise-scale cybersecurity and IT programs, ensuring the highest levels of protection.  
  • Leverage your in-depth knowledge of SIEM, EDR, Log Management and network analysis, network security, and infrastructure management to fortify our clients' defense mechanisms.  
  • Define security baseline standards, best practices, and controls for diverse infrastructure technologies, ensuring a robust security posture.  
  • Manage and troubleshoot critical infrastructure components such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows-based servers and Linux servers, maintaining their security and performance.  
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for managing security related tasks on Linux platforms.  
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments, including open-source technologies, to address the evolving threat landscape.  
  • Administer and secure Linux systems, configuring access controls and monitoring for security events.  
  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and report on potential cyber threats, intrusions, and suspicious activities using cutting-edge cybersecurity tools like SIEM, EDR, IPS/IDS, DLP, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability Management and Sandbox.  
  • Analyze detected malicious activities to identify Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) employed by adversaries, gathering Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and pertinent information.  
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including IT Security, Network/System Administrators, System Engineers, Software Engineers and end-users, fostering a culture of shared responsibility for cybersecurity.  
  • Provide daily reports on cybersecurity incidents, operational statistics, and industry news, while performing trend analysis and generating meaningful metrics for management.  
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of Security Operation and incident response best practices, ensuring our approach remainscutting-edge.  
  • Actively engage in threat-hunting activities, analyzing data for anomalies and generating actionable threat intelligence to pre-empt potential threats.  
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity incidents, collecting IOCs and relevant data for threat-hunting, and share this knowledge with the team.  
  • Knowledgeable with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), MITRE ATT&CK.  
  • Experience in building and updating SOC processes, Playbooks, Correlation rules, and Incident report.  
  • Offer expert guidance on configuring network security devices to improve service and security, optimizing our clients' defenses.  
  • Nice to have experience with scripting languages (Python, bash and Powershell)  
  • Support customer onboarding projects, ensuring a seamless transition to ThinkOn’s Security Operations Center (SOC) for security monitoring services.  
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and networking fundamentals is required for this position.  
  • Troubleshoot complex technical cybersecurity issues, demonstrating your ability to manage multiple priorities and resources in a challenging environment.  
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, translating technical issues into non-technical language when necessary.  
  • Work independently, managing priorities effectively while maintaining a keen focus on the security and resilience of our clients' environments. 

  • You Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution.  
  • 6-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-scale cybersecurity/IT programs.  
  • Experience in a Security Operation Centre (SOC) environment.  
  • Expertise in SIEM, EDR, IPS/IDS, PAM, Network Security, Email Security, SOAR, DLP, Log Management and Infrastructure Management.  
  • Working knowledge of VMware ESXi.  
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows servers.  
  • Knowledge of industry-leading cybersecurity frameworks and emerging trends.  
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.  
  • Nice to have a core certification like CCNA and CCNP, as well as information security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISA, and CRISC.
