Team Introduction: 
As a Vulnerability Management Engineer, you will be an integral part of our cybersecurity team. This team is dedicated to safeguarding our organization's assets and ensuring the integrity of our infrastructure and networks. You will work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and software developers to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across our systems. 
This role will require you to work 3 days onsite per week in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the identification and prioritization of vulnerabilities detected by scanning tools like Qualys or Nessus, leveraging your technical expertise to assess severity, exploitability, and potential impact.
  • Collaborate closely with system administrators and network engineers to develop and implement remediation plans, utilizing patch management tools like SCCM, WSUS, or Ansible for efficient deployment across servers, endpoints, and Active Directory environments.
  • Drive the remediation of critical vulnerabilities in alignment with change management processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maximizing security posture.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on vulnerability remediation progress, offering clear and concise updates to stakeholders and management, emphasizing risk reduction initiatives and outstanding vulnerabilities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats and industry best practices in vulnerability management, continually refining processes and tools to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Act as a key liaison between cybersecurity teams and infrastructure stakeholders, fostering collaboration and shared responsibility in safeguarding organizational assets.

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of cybersecurity experience, specializing in vulnerability management and remediation within complex IT environments.
  • Proven ability to drive successful vulnerability remediation efforts through collaboration with IT teams, demonstrating a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable, Rapid7, or similar products, coupled with proficiency in utilizing patch management tools like SCCM, WSUS, or Ansible, including their application to Active Directory environments for vulnerability assessment and remediation.
  • In-depth understanding of common network and application vulnerabilities and their remediation strategies, with the ability to tailor solutions to the organization's specific needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels of seniority.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government is a plus.
