Wabbi is rapidly growing and is looking for a VP of Engineering to build and lead a global engineering organization out of Wabbi’s headquarters in Boston, MA. You will have a track record of leading and scaling high-performance software organizations, both domestically and internationally. Precise industry experience in SecDevOps is not necessary, however you must have a deep understanding of modern development processes. You will also have managerial experience in global multi-location environments with both full-time employees and contractors.

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a team that is building a product where you and your team are your own end users! Wabbi is a product-led growth organization, so building a product that development teams love is critical to our success and mission to enable Security as a normal part of a healthy development process. The VPE reports into CTO. This position requires a results-oriented, dynamic individual with the capability to build and lead a team that can deliver a quality product with a rapid go-to-market strategy.

Candidates will come from a diverse set of backgrounds that have technical, customer-facing and management experience, but all successful candidates:

-Want to create products that development teams love

-Are passionate about enabling development teams to deliver quality code in the most effective manner and are interested in the cutting edge technologies that allow it

-Have a track record of building, scaling and running technical teams of all sizes with an ability to identify and address resource constraints, manage programs, match talent to task, and to identify and effectively address areas of weakness.

-Know how to define a course and align resources to make sure it is correctly executed

-Are comfortable with high-speed environments and making decisions with imperfect information

-Keep the trains running and on time” even in the face of a continually evolving workplace and roadmap

-Effectively balance tradeoffs between product, organizational and market demands

-Possess broad knowledge of modern SDLC processes and tooling that development organizations use to build applications and those that secure them

-Have strong communication skills that enable communication with technical and non-technical leaders with equal efficacy

-Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently, with teams, and cross-functionally

-Desired Previous experience at a successful startup

-Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%

Enable everybody in the engineering organization to be successful through effective team management and by removing obstacles

Deliver a quality product consistent with product roadmaps on-budget, to-spec and on-time.

Establish and communicate clear organizational objectives to ensure we maintain engineering excellence across our products and platform.

Serve as the liaison up and down in the organization, effectively communicating across the organization and aligning necessary resources

Establish Wabbi as a preferred employer for engineering talent, accelerating hiring and creating opportunities for growth and promotion within the organization.

Make organizational and process changes to eliminate any friction impairing us from the continuous delivery of value for our customers, and maximize engineering productivity.

Manage the day-to-day complexities and needs of running a software development organization such as making technology and architectural trade-offs, competitive analysis, market gap analysis, life-cycle management, etc
