We are looking for talented and knowledgeable Engineer (Cyber Security), who holds a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post. You must have experience of cyber security activities in large, complex and possibly classified ICT environments with 2.000+ end-user devices. Strong network knowledge and ability to create documentation including diagrams and processes are a must.

Good Communication skills, both verbal and written must be demonstrated.

It is mandatory to have ITIL v3 Foundation certification.

A different qualification coupled with particularly relevant experience may also be considered.

Knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of French is desirable.

Based in Brussels, Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. As Engineer (Cyber Security), your primary responsibility will be to manage and improve cyber security gateway systems (firewalls, proxies, gateway anti-virus, VPNs, IDS, web application firewalls, etc.), with secondary responsibilities including management of endpoint security systems (anti-virus, data loss protection, host firewalls, application control, etc.), log consolidation systems and analyse log data, etc. This position is located in the team responsible for Cross Domain Gateways. Assist in managing public key infrastructure in accordance with NATO, ACO and Agency directives;

Initiate and maintain liaison with other internal units, Service Lines and other Security Authorities;

Provide cyber security advice and analyse Level 1, Level 2 support requirements as required;

Execute security incident management process and analyse improvement opportunities;

Support vulnerability assessments and Security Testing and Verification (ST&V) plans within policy guidelines, and as directed;

Monitor assigned ICT systems and portions of the networks, including providing support to local cyber security training and awareness programs;

Co-ordinate assistance to L3 support, as required, in respect to event analysis and interpretation - and direction by Cyber Security Service Line;

Act as Subject Matter Expert and possibly lead technical teams in service delivery and implementing projects;

Investigate and propose long term solutions countering equipment and configuration problems;

Lead problem resolutions;

Act in the role of Duty Officer, including nights and weekends, when required;

Provides engineering and implementation guidance and investigates, define and resolves complex issues;

Advise on and assist with development of standards, methods and tools;

Analyse plans, design, requirement and associated risks, advise on technical solutions and mitigations;

Plan and prioritise against available resources and quality targets;

Deputize for higher grade staff, if required;

Perform other duties as may be required.
