We are looking for a Staff, Security Program Manager to join our growing team. This role will extend beyond traditional TPM requirements - project delivery, clear communication, and executive stakeholder management - and is responsible for driving program operations across the Security, Compliance, Software & IT, and DevOps departments. This role will partner with each division of Updater to ensure the delivery of mission-critical security and compliance requirements. This role has the opportunity to transform operations across multiple departments impacting multiple divisions (business units) in a fast-moving high-growth environment. 


About the Role



  • This role is responsible for building the following functions across departments reporting to the CISO

    • Technical Project Management 

    • Cross-Departmental Operations



  • Operational Responsibilities

    • Quarterly OKR Planning – Creation, and sign-off of Quarterly roadmaps of programs/projects planned for the year

    • Processes-Oriented Delivery – Design of repeatable & predictable processes for initiation, tracking, governance, review, and delivery of initiates and OKRs.

    • Predictable Delivery - Design of repeatable & predictable processes for how the functions organize and deliver predictably (ie. blue time / red time). 

    • Delivery Risk Management - Design a clear and concise risk management routine so that priority risks are not lost in a high pace environment.

    • Maturing Department Operations - Transformation of traditional processes and tools to agile processes and tools to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of programs/projects based on iterative, feedback-loop-based development paradigms. 

    • Automation - Leaning into automation to reduce the operational burden of project delivery freeing up time for delivery without sacrificing planning and clear communication.

    • Progress over Perfection - Institution of a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making

    • Financial & Staffing Plan - Ensuring that there is clear alignment between Finance, PeopleOps, and other stakeholders on the financial and hiring plan across all departments.



  • Measuring Success

    • Each director can forecast the delivery of initiatives on a 4-week horizon with 80%+ confidence 

    • Predictable monthly data-driven reporting on compliance implementation & operations to the CISO and executive stakeholders 

    • Weekly delivery reports to the CISO

    • Weekly updates to the TPM team at multiple Divisions 

    • Driving the adoption of Agile (or alternative) disciplines to departments reporting to the CISO

    • Expanded sphere of influence in driving security initiatives across the company




About You



  • Characteristics to be successful in this role

    • 5+ years of security program management experience

    • Agile Project Management experience

    • Ability to lead with influence vs. authority

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Experience in high growth tech org environment 

    • Experience working in org under multiple compliance requirements

    • Clear and effective executive communication skills

    • Comfortable in an ambiguous environment and know how to balance the needs for planning with a bias for action

    • Have a growth mindset and will deliver on the overflow responsibilities from senior security leadership (Director +)
