As a technical Cyber Operations Specialist, you will be part of the Mandiant Government Team in the Asia Pacific region, working with other likeminded teammates focusing on operationalizing current and emerging cyber security threats. The successful candidate will be an independent, critical thinker skilled in using data to solve problems. This person will thrive integrating threat knowledge into operational support and solutions to help drive support our government customer operations, as well as the broader Mandiant customer base as required.

Mandiant Consulting operates on a cross skill model, where our staff are encouraged to pursue skills outside of their primary role. We are also interested in a candidate with experience or interest with cyber ranges, especially related to scenario and infrastructure development in alignment with realistic range exercises.

You will be responsible for working with our most advanced government clients utilizing Mandiant and open source technical capabilities to achieve an intelligence led security approach to their most challenging operational cyber problems. Our utilization and analysis of threat data enables a cohesive intelligence-led approach for our customers whilst enhancing our products, detections, services, deliverables, and support functions. Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing development of your skillset to pursue the most advanced cyber threat groups in the world
  • Provide threat context to multiple Mandiant service lines including client focused incident responses, support to national security priorities across the region and development of threat actor profiles for operational and organizational capability programs
  • Provide intelligence platform integration guidance, technical support and use case support in alignment with client intelligence requirements
  • Maintain expert knowledge of advanced persistent threat tools, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) as well as forensics and incident response practices
  • Analyze technical data to extract attacker TTPs, identify unique attributes of malware, map attacker infrastructure, and pivot to related threat data
  • Identify and hunt for emerging threat activity across all internal/external sources
  • Establish standards, taxonomy, and processes for threat modeling and integration
  • Provide threat research and context to global service delivery for Mandiant and Managed Defense investigations
  • Perform threat research and analysis during high-severity cyber-attacks impacting Mandiant customers globally
  • Cross-coordinate threat data and trends between internal teams for rapid inclusion into customer deliverables
  • Under guidance, prepare and deliver realistic range scenarios using Mandiant’s Threat space range infrastructure.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working in a relevant cyber intelligence and/or operational cyber role focused on technical intelligence enabled network or host forensics, technical cyber threat analysis or operational security consulting. Experience and educational background will be assessed on a case by case basis.
  • Must be able to maintain at least a baseline Australian Government security clearance, with high classifications preferred. Candidates that already hold an appropriate clearance are preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Previous experience working with Australian Government is desirable.
