WHAT TO EXPECT: 
You will be in a hands-on position that is responsible for the operational protection of our information systems and assets. You will maintain and develop our existing monitoring and threat protection systems in conjunction with our vendor partners to enforce security policies, procedures, and controls for our information systems.  

You will work with internal stakeholders and management to expand our threat protection and detection systems and help develop our corporate information security policies and standards. You will bring your experience with logging and network monitoring systems, web filtering, anti-malware, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network configuration, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing to improve D-Wave’s information security posture. In addition, you will be actively involved in the response and remediation efforts resulting from any cybersecurity incidents. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Analyze the detection of cyber-security threats and implement systems to mitigate them 
  • Implement and optimize monitoring tools to detect abnormal data behaviour and activities 
  • Evaluate, select, and implement security tools and automation 
  • Analyzing and configuring corporate systems to improve their security 
  • Using software tools, automate the deployment of security policies and settings to our infrastructure 
  • Work with external partners and tools to carry out penetration and vulnerability testing 
  • Carry out regular testing on the recovery and protection of our data 
  • Lead the vulnerability and patch management processes 
  • Collaborate with the team to define network security policies and improve threat protection rules 
  • Help develop and maintain the D-Wave’s security awareness training 
  • Be a key member in the resolution of cyber security events and incidents 

  • YOU ARE:
  • A degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field 
  • 5 or more years of experience as a System administrator with at least 3 years in IT-Security 
  • Knowledge of Network Infrastructure, storage systems, monitoring, and analytics 
  • 2-3 years of experience with working on industry leading SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) applications and EDR and network monitoring solutions 
  • Experience in running cyber security awareness systems and communication campaigns 
  • Proven system administration of Linux-based systems 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Information Security and/or Ethical Hacker certifications 
  • Knowledge of Information Security/Technology and Compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ITIL)
