What does a day in the life of a SOC Analyst like?
  • Design, implement, and maintain effective security controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard client environments.
  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into new and existing systems and applications.
  • Maintain and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of security technologies and tools to enhance our cybersecurity capabilities.
  • Conduct regular security audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

    • What are the required qualifications of a SOC Analyst?
  • 1 to 2 years of related professional experience or training in information technology and/or information security is required.
  • Exposure to a multitude of security tools (SIEM, IDS, AV, etc.).
  • Experience in Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and/or Threat Intelligence is preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge in Duo or Mimecast engineering or administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of network and system security principles, protocols, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks.
  • Amenable to work on Weekends and Night shift or any other days and shift as required by the client

  • Some desired certifications include, but are not limited to:
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+ and Linux+
  • ANs GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GPEN, GWAPT, GCFE, GSNA, GPPA, GCWN, GISF, GCED,
  • GAWN, GXPN, GSSP, GWEB and GNFA.
  • Offensive Security OSCP, OSCE, OSWP, OSEE.
  • SC2 CCFP, CCSP, CISSP, CSSLP, SSCP.
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Security.
