We are looking for a committed Cyber Security Engineer to join our Tactical Command and Control LOB. You will solve uniquely challenging problems for our Defense and Homeland Security customers. Help manage large volumes of critical, real-time information about issues from global to local. Get s#it done.
This role requires an ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGLead security engineering tasks / project activities. Recommend, design, develop, plan, deploy, implement, integrate, assess and test the hardening of enterprise level security applications and toolsServe as a security SME and architect to support implementation of cyber security designs and best practices while supporting software development teamsEnsure security solutions support requirements for security / threat analysis capabilities and work with security analysts to tune for improved detection and response capabilityProvide security engineering support to develop and maintain a flexible security architecture; provide protection from unauthorized use of, or access to, the customer-managed network and networked assets; and protect all data residing on the network from intrusion, destruction, or compromiseProvide technical recommendations and oversight for system security upgrades, technical refreshes, and new builds per security requirements set by stakeholdersContinuously assess the security architecture to identify areas for improvementWork directly with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, customers, and partner organizations, throughout the planning, designing, and deployment of secure applications and servicesProvide executive level summary briefings, reports and technical deep dives with managementDevelop and maintain detailed documentation and diagrams of the system architecture, configuration and processes associated with the environment (Body of Evidence)Perform software hardening and assessments (e.g., DISA STIG checklists, NIST 800-53r5)
WHAT YOU HAVE DONEBS in Computer Science, equivalent degree, or previous work experienceExperience with DoD Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, i.e. RMF, DISA STIGs STIG & DSS security control implementation, assessment and documentationProven experience utilizing Splunk to create custom dashboards, reports and alertsProven Experience with security tools such as: Checkpoint CPES, Tenable (SC5), Cisco ISE, FireEye, Splunk, Palo Alto Firewalls, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Crowdstrike, Splunk Phantom, Microsoft G5 Security Suite (ex: Azure ATP, Defender ATP, etc.)Competent on security guidance and specifications such as the RMF (NIST SP 800-37, DoD 85010.01, ICD 503, CNSSI 1253, NIST 800-53r5 ) and related DoD and commercial security guidanceDoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)Competency designing, implementing and managing security tools and appliances (e.g. SIEM tool - Splunk) to perform continuous monitoringExperience as a SME designing, implementing, and configuring security systems and controlsExperience working independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot and correct operational security issuesConducted vulnerability scanning, recommend mitigation approaches, develop and maintain POA&Ms and reporting functionsAt RII, we believe that diversity in our workforce is critical to our success.
