Guardian Security Services is currently looking for a Security Officer to work in the Melrose Park area. Great starting wages at $17/hr!

Must have a mature and respectful demeanor with a great track record for punctuality and a strong work ethic. Computer knowledge/experience is a must.

    • Position Requirements/Preferences:
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. 
  • Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent and provide us with a copy. 
  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test
  • Be mature in demeanor, personality and attitude. 
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written. 
  • Have a stable work history. 
  • Maintain an impeccable image and adhere to our professional grooming standards.
  • No visible tattoo(s)which cannot be covered up with a short sleeve shirt and pants.
  • Possess strong customer service and public relation skills, and be able to interact well with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds. 
  • Must maintain a working telephone at all times in order for us to contact you. 
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.  
  • Must have a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or willing to apply for one. 
  • Must have a 20-hour training certificate or complete within in 30 days of employment. 
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations while remaining calm and professional.
  • Ability to use a two-way radio.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

    • Position duties:
  • Understand and maintaining general post instructions for that assigned post.
  • Maintain practical knowledge of all additional and emergency post instructions that are called for by the client.
  • Maintain access control procedures set by building management.
  • Effectively utilize access control systems, visitor management systems and CCTV systems as needed.
  • Document and report any property damage, special occurrences, and malfunctioning of equipment using proper protocol.
  • Logging incoming packages using the computer software programs you will be trained on.
  • Monitor CCTV’s to guard against theft of tenant or building property.
  • Respond to incidents and document the event.
  • Possibly conduct foot patrols in and out of the building, in all types of weather, during your shift.
  • May include walking up and down stairs, depending on location.
  • Greet all employees and visitors using your best customer service skills.
  • Sign in and out all visitors and vendors.
  • Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service, Public Relations and have an impeccable image.
