The opportunity 

As our Staff Security Engineer, your mission will be to drive security-related engineering engagement and technical remediation across our product development organization. Working alongside a team of engineers, you will leverage your software engineering skills and security expertise to raise the security bar across our platform hive.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, data, and compliance teams, to ensure security is integrated into our daily doing without slowing us down or creating unnecessary barriers. Your responsibilities 

• Drive security-related engineering engagement and technical remediation across our product development organization, including vulnerability management, application security, and cloud security


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into daily workflows without slowing down progress or creating barriers


• Conduct security reviews, threat modeling workshops, and other risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate solutions


• Develop and maintain security standards, best practices, and awareness programs to educate engineering teams on security best practices


• Implement security tools and processes to help secure infrastructure, mobile services, and web apps


• Make security fun again :-)

What you need to succeed 

• You have gained extensive experience in implementing security frameworks and compliance practices in a cloud-native environment (we run in GCP)


• You developed strong software engineering skills, including experience with secure coding practices and familiarity with common programming languages such as Python, or Go


• You bring expertise in container security, CI/CD pipelines, and other DevSecOps practices


• You are experienced with common cyber security tools and technologies, including cloud security, identity management, vulnerability management, and incident response workflows


• You have strong knowledge of industry security standards, including OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25, and GDPR compliance
