Listing Description
The Assistant Director of Network Operations & Security Systems performs the following duties:
* Manages a team of individual contributors.
* Provides management of centralized computing operations and systems, information security, site licenses for network-based and centralized computers and security.
* Provides management of Physical Security/Life Safety Systems, card management systems and coordinates security efforts across the company, including information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management and other groups, and will identify security initiatives and standards.
* Assists in the preparation of the annual department budget for installing, operating, upgrading, managing, and planning information transport infrastructures, centralized platforms and operating systems, physical security initiatives, and the multi-user computer systems, to include assessing the projected costs for technological advancements.
* Conducts in-depth short and long-range needs analyses, strategic and tactical planning, and presents resulting recommendations regarding information transport infrastructures, centralized platforms, and operating systems technology, to include projections for required financial and human resources, the life expectancy of technological enhancements, and conferring with management representatives of external organizations to obtain feedback relative to technological advancements in the research and developmental stage.
* Manages the architect, design, installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities that support the George Washington University Information Network and Physical Security Systems by leading functions related to multiple campus networks, Enterprise level Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems, Life Safety Systems and to perform complex telecommunications systems design services in the areas of voice, data, video, IT security, Physical Security, Life Safety, service provider, building management and data center.* Professional experience in state-of-the-art information systems technology such as to include experience managing and developing the technical operations of a large and complex organization (preferably in a research university)
* Excellent time, project, and personnel management skills including excellent communication skills.
* A sound understanding of data center operations including, HVAC and power systems
* Experience with developing and deploying PPDIOO or similar lifecycle process
* Fluent with all aspects of networking as it pertains to a senior engineering position
* Proven track record of successful implementations of complex technical solutions, process development, and process improvement
* Experience in Low voltage Systems, Threat Assessment and Master Security Planning
