Search for Common Ground (Search) is an international conflict transformation NGO that aims to transform the way individuals, groups, governments and companies deal with conflict, away from adversarial approaches and towards collaborative solutions. Headquartered in Washington DC, USA, and Brussels, Belgium, with 55 offices in 34 countries, Search designs and implements multifaceted, culturally appropriate and conflict-sensitive programs using a diverse range of tools, including media and training, to promote dialogue, increase knowledge and determine a positive shift in behaviors. Operating in Sudan since 2009, Search has developed and implemented innovative peacebuilding programs in collaboration with local Sudanese NGOs. Our work in Sudan seeks to empower women and other marginalized groups and encourage greater inclusivity in the peace processes and governance in Sudan. 

 

 

The Safety and Security team believes that managing the safety and security risks is essential in not only ensuring that our staff are protected, but also safeguarding our ability to continue working with our local partners to build sustainable peace in their societies through trust, collaboration, and breakthroughs. 

 

The S&S team is committed to mitigating any risk to our staff, assets, and reputation extending to include all our stakeholders by creating a safe and secure environment around the delivery of our programs, through informing the strategizing process at the highest levels to providing the resources for educating our staff, partners and all affiliates and availing the necessary tools for reporting, response, follow up through all stages of incident management up to resolution.

 

 

The Safety and Security Officer will oversee all aspects of the security and safety of the Country program. S/he will be responsible for implementing all policies and procedures regarding security & safety and promoting its day-to-day management for Search in the country.
