What a Cybersecurity Tools Engineer does at HP:
• Manages cybersecurity infrastructure needed by the Detection and Response team
• Administration of our SIEM environment, including expansion of infrastructure, adding log sources, and resolving issues that may arise
• Maintain and develop custom tooling needed by the team
• Manage configuration, deployments, updates of commodity security tools across HP’s cloud and on-premise infrastructure
• Prioritize SIEM engineering-related tasks from our 3rd Party SOC provider
• Assist Detection and Response analysts with tasks best solved by automation
Individuals who thrive in this role at HP, typically have:
• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science, engineering or related area of study, or equivalent experience)
• Experience maintaining complex infrastructure in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment
• Experience writing code / scripts in a modern language and automating, preferably Python
• Experience maintaining Windows and Linux server environments
• Knowledge of SIEM infrastructure and environments
About the team:
The Cybersecurity Tools Engineer will be a part of HP’s Threat Detection & Response team, enabling optimal communication and collaboration with closely related functions. Our mission is simple to express – find and stop the Bad Guys! – but challenging to execute. You can become a key part in ensuring our success!
As a Tools Engineer, you will also have the opportunity to interface with other HP functions using your knowledge to help our Detection & Response Analysts protect HP from attacks.
