Job Description:
AFS is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join our team delivering mission critical platforms and capabilities.
The Work:
- Perform on-site cyber security tasks at Hill Air Force Base, UT with the potential for some remote work
- Apply knowledge of cyber security and cloud platforms to automate cloud security tasks (e.g., vulnerability scanning, log monitoring, system patching) in classified cloud environments
- Apply configurations of cybersecurity tools, such as ACAS, Splunk, and antivirus software in accordance with the Authorization to Operate (ATO) under DoD and Air Force standards
- Conduct testing and integration of cybersecurity services for the AWS Workspace software bundle deployment process and application integration with other security services
- Ensure the deployment activities meet the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and any deviations are documented for Authorizing Official approval
- Support vulnerability assessments and remediation. Report status of deployment vulnerabilities to the Information System Security Manager and Authorizing Official
Here's what you need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline, or 4+ years of experience in Cyber Security may be substituted for a degree
- 3+ years of Assessment and Authorization experience in a related industry (experience owning a program/product/feature, scoping requirements, and working with technical teams)
- 3+ years of familiarity with the processes and documentation required to articulate the appropriate system security products or services with stakeholder government customers to define a project scope, requirements, and deliverables
- 3+ years implementing, testing, and deploying security services and tools (i.e., antivirus software, vulnerability scanning software, and DISA STIGs)
- 1+ years of experience architecting information systems for authorization under ICD 503 or DoD Risk Management Framework
- DoD 8570 Compliant with IAT Level 2 certification
- Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph examination
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in cloud technologies and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or other cloud service providers
- AWS Cloud certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Security Specialty
- Familiarity with Information Security or Audit frameworks
- Experience writing policies and implementing change
- General understanding of networking principals
Security Clearance:
- Must have a TS/SCI security clearance; CI Poly preferred

Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role
California: $105,200 - $168,400
Colorado: $105,200 - $145,500
New York City: $121,700 - $168,400
Washington: $112,100 - $154,900
