Job Description: Paranoids Advanced Threats Developer

We are the information security team at Oath; known as "The Paranoids".

We protect Oath, its brands, and their users. We ensure that our users are kept safe from targeted attacks and account hijacking. We investigate cyber threats that affects Oath's infrastructure, properties, and worldwide user base and apply innovative legal and technical remedies to mitigate those activities.

A Lot About You:

You are a dynamic, experienced full stack developer who pursues serious problems at Oath scale. You create elegant, well-documented code and tools and listen your users for feedback and feature requests. You enjoy finding and normalizing backend data sources and using that data to help investigators find and track APT attacks. You have a passion to protect vulnerable users.

Your Day:

Identify sources of targeted attack data within Oath platforms and integrate them with other tools.

Integrate with other Advanced Threats Developers to create and maintain internal tracking and knowledge management systems.

Collaborate with other members of the Paranoids to design, develop, code and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products; revise and refine as required.

Participate in development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing and ongoing support of systems.

Engage with internal teams - such as Legal, Mail, PR, Customer Care, the Paranoids, and others - to develop solutions to address any targeted threat issues encountered on Oath properties.

Distill simplicity out of complex requirements and workflows to build highly-usable, secure and maintainable applications.

You Must Have:

A passion for protecting users and making the Internet a safer place for everyone.

Advanced development experience in Python; experience with C, PHP, Go (Golang), or related languages a plus.

Experience developing user interfaces using HTML, JavaScript (jQuery), AJAX and CSS.

Experience developing with Flask, Django, or Node.js using Test Driven Development (TDD).

Strong frontend design skills using frameworks such as React or Angular.

Familiarity with database-style data storage and retrieval mechanisms, such as MySQL or Oracle, and with big-data solutions such as Splunk, Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Mapreduce, and Oozie.

Familiarity with malware sandboxing technologies such as Cuckoo, Joe Sandbox, and VxStream.

Ability to work on sensitive investigative matters while adhering to company privacy standard and US and international law.

Excellent written communication skills and the shown ability to understand and present complex data to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Nice to Have:

B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience in malware analysis and/or reverse engineering.

Eligibility for a US government security clearance.
