Panum. is seeking a self-motivated, talented, and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Security Engineer with a focus on Annual Penetration Testing, Critical Infrastructure, Risk Mitigation, and Audit Preparation and Reporting. Must have Federal Government Cybersecurity experience. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in Cybersecurity vulnerability and risk mitigation projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform annual black box testing of IT assets, including desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, internally developed applications, web-based scripts, applications on all organization websites and back doors in accordance with approved test plan.

Test to determine: (1) whether the IT controls are properly designed and operating effectively, (2) what steps the organization should take to better protect its IT Enterprise from malicious and/or unintentional internal and external attacks and (3) if the security monitoring and incident response capabilities are operating effectively and what steps, if any, should be taken to improve on them.

Prepare a report and conduct a briefing documenting analysis process, outcomes, metrics, and recommendations.

Evaluate and recommend the purchase of new security technologies and information security software based on the ability of those technologies to mitigate gaps, vulnerabilities, and threats in the organizations’ environment. The recommendation must include new techniques for data analysis, developing report subscriptions (e.g., ISSO, Information System Security Managers), supporting scripts for data analysis (e.g., middle-ware compliance validation), as well as implementation guidance for incorporating into the organizations environment.

Support implementation and administration of IT security tools to protect information assets (e.g., Tanium, Carbon Black Cloud, Privilege Account Management tool).

Develop, implement, and coordinate activities to apply configuration management settings to mitigate vulnerabilities.

Interpret existing policy and procedural controls covering application security, information security, and system software security.

Conduct hands-on training for the security community regarding new or updated operational procedures.

Splunk Monitoring

Minimum Qualifications

BA in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or similar relevant field

Minimum 5 years’ experience in Security Engineering, Penetration Testing

In-depth knowledge of application development processes and at least one programing or scripting language (e.g., Java, Scala, C#, Ruby, Perl, Python, PowerShell)

Security Certifications (CISSP, CEH, LPT) are required

Hands on experience with testing frameworks such as the PTES and OWASP

Applicable knowledge of Windows client/server, Unix/Linux systems, Mac OS X, VMware/Xen, , Splunk, and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
