Location
The Security Specialist is required to work 4 days per week on-site at the client offices located at Arlington, VA and provide on-site support. You must be legally authorized to work in the US.  Bixal does not provide visa sponsorship.  

What will you do?
Bixal is seeking a Security Specialist for an upcoming opportunity. The Security Specialist will be part of a team to support USAID M/CIO’s Information Assurance transformation into a mature and fully integrated and adaptive Enterprise Information Assurance program. As a Security Specialist, you will ensure agency-wide adoption and maintenance of effective security and privacy controls. You will be responsible for maintaining security policies and ensuring compliance with security objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures related to data privacy and security.
  • Develop mitigation strategies for privacy risks.
  • Provide guidance and advice to teams across the organization on privacy issues and how to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Understand any new changes in privacy laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that privacy requirements are met.

    • Qualifications
  • Ability to work onsite 4 days per week during transition with opportunity to change frequency depending on team needs after transition.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in systems security.  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong attention to detail.  
  • Solid understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
  • Experience with risk assessments, audits, and incident response protocols.
  • Ability to undergo a background investigation by the U.S. Government and meet eligibility requirements for suitability (secret security clearance).

  • Active secret security clearance.
  • Professional certifications in privacy, such as the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification, are preferred.
