WHO YOU ARE:

We are looking for a Sr Security Response Engineer who is passionate about building detection and response platforms and tools.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Uber gathers a large volume of telemetry from all of our production network and systems. We’re looking for someone to help us build the future of intrusion detection, deriving strong signal from this data to aid our detection and response efforts.

In this role, your work will be critical to our detection of and rapid response to ever evolving threats against our rapidly expanding production infrastructure, enterprise systems, and cloud services.

Aggregate and manipulate of large volumes of data from various sources

Build high quality detection and analysis pipelines at scale

Create high signal detection alerts which are enriched with intelligence and historical data in order to drive the time of response down

Demonstrate excellent communication skills to collaborate with our internal security teams to ensure the growth of our detection capability across information security, fraud and abuse

Possess a strong analytical mindset and a desire to solve large, challenging and complex problems

Experience in development of detection and analysis pipelines

Demonstrated understanding of the Incident Response Cycle

Solid understanding of networking protocols and operating system internals (Linux, OS X and Windows)

Experience with large scale analytics tools (ELK, Splunk, and AWS Analytics Stack)

Programming skills (Python, Go, C, Java, Bash, PowerShell)
