The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Position Overview:


The Cybersecurity Engineer will assist with implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the strategic, comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity and IT risk management program. The Cybersecurity Analyst will support the vision of the Cybersecurity Program and its objectives necessary to manage the risk to the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity, and confidentiality.


At VGLNG, we value our cybersecurity team as the first and last -- line of defense against protecting our sensitive data from cyber-attack. We’re seeking an experienced and vigilant cybersecurity specialist who can proactively prevent breaches of all sizes, understand when they occur, and take immediate steps to remediate them.


In this role, you’ll help keep cybercrime at bay, using your expertise and analytics skills to monitor our data at all points of contact, ferret out malware and ransomware events, and recommend solutions for any vulnerabilities. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of cybersecurity standards and certifications, extensive knowledge on how cybercriminals work, and the determination to never let them in.


This position reports to the Manger, Cybersecurity


Responsibilities:



  • As the Cyber Security Engineer you will be responsible for proactively uncovering digital vulnerabilities within our environment and ensuring information assets and technologies are adequately protected.



  • Strong understanding of cloud security



  • Strong understanding of cloud environments and assessing systems within cloud environments focusing on security posture.

  • Responsible for monitoring SIEM and analysing potential threat events.

  • Responsible for Theat Hunting and identifying potention Indicators of Compromise (IOC’s).

  • Support and be responsible for Vulnerability Management and Pen Testing.

  • Manage schedule and mix of external and internal vulnerability scans, manual security testing.

  • Provide/communicate testing reports, presentations, and briefings

  • Responsible for overseeing Technology governance and policies.

  • Responsible for configuration of IDS systems, analyze firewall traffic.

  • As part of the Cyber Security team, participates in VGLNG’s cybersecurity strategy, security awareness programs, security architecture, and security incident response.

  • Educates employees on appropriate cybersecurity risk and mitigation strategies

  • Collaborates with IT compliance team(s) as needed and coordinates the IT component of both internal and external audits, federal and state examinations to ensure VGLNG cybersecurity programs’ compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Maintains, and publishes up-to-date cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines.

  • Evaluates new cybersecurity threats and IT trends and develops effective security controls.

  • Supports cybersecurity awareness programs.

  • Supports effective disaster recovery policies and standards to align with company business continuity management program goals. Ensures business critical services are recovered in the event of disasters or other incidents, and provides support, and in-house consulting in these areas.

  • Responds to potential security breaches, coordinates response, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Maintains current knowledge of industry and regulatory trends and developments for the enterprise technology.

  • Performs other duties as assigned


 


Qualifications:



  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with degree preferred in Computer Science or Information technology systems security or related field. Advanced degrees preferred

  2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cybersecurity

  3. Experience with cloud environements and cloud security.

  4. Knowledge of the NIST framework

  5. Knowledge of the Purdue model

  6. Minimum of three (3) years hands-on experience conducting vulnerability scans, penetration tests

  7. Knowledge of Information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) (certification preferred) with respect to security administration and information technology governance in a multi- platform environment

  8. Experience with cybersecurity and risk metrics for reporting

  9. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse people

  10. Possess strong written and verbal presentation skills

  11. Power Shell scripting skills
