Our Engineering Department is seeking a Staff Reverse/Dissector Engineer to join its Research & Development - Content Engineering Team. In this position, you will work closely with partner teams to support Dragos customers via researching new protocols and detections by working closely with new and existing customers and our solution architects. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering and Intelligence teams to drive insights into industrial protocol analysis, network situational awareness, and behavioral threat detections.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, reverse-engineer, and document industrial network protocols and functions related to system modification, command, and control, encryption/encoding, etc.Partner with engineers and Intel to deliver innovative new product capabilitiesCreate excellent technical documentationGenerate innovative asset identification capabilities, protocol parsers, and threat behavior analytics for the Dragos PlatformConduct in-depth reverse engineering of hardware and software to support designing and building detection logicConnect with customers and industry partners to collect data and analyze host and network analytic opportunities in production environmentsUnderstand open and proprietary protocols to identify software, devices, configurations, and vulnerabilities
Requirements5+ years in security operations, threat hunting, detection development OR offensive operations, threat emulation, and security tool development. Awareness of common operating system internals and the ability to identify analytic opportunitiesComfort working with multi-terabyte host and network datasetsExperience utilizing static and dynamic analysis tools to conduct in-depth reverse engineering of hardware and/or software without a source as well as network protocols and, experience with blue/red team security tool plugin development (e.g., Zeek NSM modules, Wireshark dissectors, Metasploit modules, etc.)Some development/scripting experience (e.g., Python, Rust, Ruby, Go, Lua, etc.) Proficiency in x86/x86_64 intel assembly and disassemblers including IDA Pro and Ghidra
CompensationBase Salary: $192,000Salary + Benefits + Equity = $320,000Comprehensive benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K with match)Equity at Dragos is quickly growing and the total compensation under-represents the future growth and refresh program.
