Job Summary:  
Make a difference in the fast-paced cloud security industry! Rackspace is looking for a Solutions Architect to join our growing Security Solutions team.  This pre-sales role will provide direct technical assistance to Sales teams in support of opportunities for new and existing customers as well as provide support to non-security Solutions Engineers and Architects and Professional Services sellers where needed.  The Solutions Architect will act as a subject matter expert on security and Rackspace’s relevant solutions.  This includes providing enablement and training to the wider technical sales community as well as demonstrating thought leadership within and outside of Rackspace. 

Our security solutions are focused on helping customers build, transform, and manage security within complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments.  Our services encompass professional services, traditional managed security services, and a unique, future-forward service called Elastic Engineering for Security.   Our technical solutions span comprehensively across customer security needs including cloud native security, security monitoring and analytics, web security, endpoint security, zero trust, and more!   

Job Description:
  • Discover and discuss customer technical and business challenges related to cyber security  
  • Partner with general Solution Engineers and Sales team on identifying, recommending, and specifying Rackspace security solutions and services that meet customer needs and requirements 
  • Support sales in the pursuit of opportunities via customer conversations and presentations, assisting in the preparation of customer proposals and RFP responses, and supporting the definition of professional services SOW engagements where required  
  • Work cross-functionally with key management and technical stakeholders within the Sales, Solution Engineering, and Professional Services organization to support achieving security sales targets within assigned region 
  • Build and deliver technical enablement regarding Rackspace Security Solutions to Sales and Solutions Engineers/Architects 
  • Review critical customer accounts with Customer Service and Engagement Managers to understand customer sentiment and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities 
  • Deliver technical demonstrations of customer portals and technology solutions where required 
  • Provide regional thought leadership on security within Rackspace and the wider security community 
  • Collect prospect and customer feedback and communicate to appropriate product managers for product improvements or new product development in an effort to open new market opportunities or increase sales 

  • Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in security technology including one or more of the following: security analytics and monitoring, WAF and edge Security, cloud security, endpoint security, application security, and zero trust 
  • Significant exposure and knowledge of cloud security market with a knowledge of cloud native solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google) 
  • Minimum of 3 years of pre-sales engineering or architect experience or equivalent  
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with stakeholders clearly 
  • Ability to own execution without continuous oversight 
  • Flexibility to manage multiple complex tasks across different customers and pursuits 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred 
  • Ability to work within a remote team 
  • Ability to travel periodically to customers sites as needed and public health con

    The following information is required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $117k –$188k. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. Information on benefits offered is here.
