Data security is key to our mission and strategy. We are looking for an experienced CISO to join our leadership team to oversee and execute all aspects of enterprise and application security. As CISO, you will lead and scale our security function to further grow Panorama as the most trusted and secure platform in education. The CISO will collaborate closely with various functions across Panorama including Legal, IT, Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to proactively manage risks and mitigate vulnerabilities in software, systems, architecture, processes, and practices. The ideal candidate brings a combination of senior leadership experience, experience building out Security functions, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to develop, implement, and monitor a strategic and comprehensive security program.


We are a Series C stage company on a rapid growth trajectory, and as CISO you will play a key role in leading Panorama through this next chapter of growth and beyond. This role sits on our leadership team.


Panorama has raised $105 million from General Atlantic (Series C lead), Emerson Collective, YCombinator, Spark Capital, Owl Ventures, Uncork, and other leading investors.


Responsibilities:


Strategy, Definition, and Implementation



  • Develop, implement, and own strategy and programs for enterprise and application security and risk management, including vulnerability management, business continuity, incident and response management, cloud infrastructure security, network security management, disaster recovery, and internal security practices and policies

  • Collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer to regularly review, implement and manage privacy policies and practices

  • Ensure security practices are built into and followed throughout the SDLC; build scalable security solutions to ensure all deployed products and systems have security built in 

  • Identify and implement best in class tools for security and risk management

  • Regularly conduct research to understand emerging threats and develop innovative risk management approaches, tools, and analytics to better manage risk

  • Remain informed on security trends and issues, including current and emerging technologies and threats; advice, counsel, and educate executive and management teams on their relative importance and financial impact

  • Recommend and implement changes in security policies and practices in accordance with changes in local or federal laws

  • Drive security standards across the organization, including information security policies and practices 

  • Regularly audit risks across the organization, and work cross-functionally with leaders and teams across Panorama to manage identified risks and support Panorama’s growth

  • Design, track, and regularly communicate metrics relating to security and risk

  • Support go-to-market initiatives and external communication about Panorama’s security focus, and serve as an external ambassador for Panorama and our commitment to security


People Leadership 



  • Lead and grow Panorama’s Security function, including strong people management, recruiting, talent development, and performance management

  • Build a diverse and inclusive security team, and as a senior leader at Panorama advance diversity and inclusion across the company


Our Ideal Candidate:



  • Senior security executive at a high-growth technology company, with strong subject matter expertise around information security  (education experience a plus but not required)

  • Strong people manager with experience building out and leading Security organizations, including talent development, recruiting, and culture-building

  • Strong bridge builder, cross-functional collaborator and communicator, with high EQ and ability to represent Panorama and its security programs internally and externally 

  • Skilled at partnering with senior leaders across the company to create strong security culture and practices across every function
