Description

• We are seeking a Python Security Infrastructure Engineer to help maintain and improve their platforms and services. This is a challenging role with a steep learning curve which, with the help of a friendly and supportive squad, will transform your technical skills.


• Their globally distributed squad is responsible for maintaining a security analytics technology platform using the Splunk vendor product. Their key stakeholders are cyber security response and investigations and incident management.


• They are leveraging DevOps and SRE methodologies to deliver stakeholder needs more efficiently.

Profile

• Delivering a well-documented, monitored, stable and supportable plant


• Implementing automation tools that integrate with in-house developed configuration management frameworks and APIs


• Building and maintaining relationships with technical groups, providing consultancy to them and helping to engineer products and solutions that meet their needs


• Communicating with internal clients and stakeholders to identify new business requirements and design well architected infrastructure solutions that meet their needs


• Recommending and testing changes to improve performance and stability at the configuration or code level


• Working as an escalation point to perform complex troubleshoots, working with other infrastructure owners to resolve issues in the environment

As the Python Security Engineer, you will:

• Have infrastructure automation and integration experience ideally using Python and Ansible


• Have a solid understanding of O/S and networking concepts: Linux/Unix system administration, HTTP and encryption.


• Have a good understanding of software version control, deployment & build tools using DevOps SDLC practices (Git, Jenkins, Jira)


• Have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a highly visible fast paced enterprise environment,


• Have excellent verbal & written communication skills


• Have an appreciation of Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum

Desired Skills

• Prior experience deploying and managing large scale analytics platforms


• Data engineering and configuration experience inc. writing and testing field extractions using regular expressions


• Log data transport technologies such as Kafka and syslog


• Splunk certified administrator and/or architect
