As Director of Information Security, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity and IT risk management program. You will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage the risk to the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity, and confidentiality. You have experience supporting compliance initiatives such as NIST,DOD, NSA and other cybersecurity standards and can support implementation and execution of the policies and procedures that come out of it. As the needs of the organization become clear and your strategy laid out, you will work to recruit a small group of talented Engineers to execute your roadmap. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate organization wide to promote a culture of security  
  • Develop an Information Security risk mitigation strategy and roadmap to execute. 
  • Work with security and IT teams to identify threats and problem areas, using that feedback to further strengthen tools and technologies  
  • Support IDS/IPS and other security appliances including MFA, remote access devices, NAC, WAF, DDOS and network-based malware protection  
  • Lead Compliance and Policy efforts working with outside vendors and government agencies to ensure appropriate levels of compliance. 
  • Identify, Recruit, and Hire talented Information Security Engineers 
  • Actively mentors/coaches junior teammates to deliver information  security solutions that provide value and meet departmental objectives  

  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 15+ years in the Information Security industry, developing, implementing, and monitoring enterprise cybersecurity risk management programs 
  • 5+ years of leading major security initiatives, leading security teams, and advising organizations on Information Security strategy. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information/Cyber Security, Information Risk, Information Risk Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Management required   

  • PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience leading major compliance initiatives such as NIST, DOD or NSA 
  • Experience working with Regulatory bodies and government agencies to evaluate and approve security strategy 

  • WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
  • Critical thinking:  ABL engineers understand the “why” behind all design decisions, operational events and test outcomes 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity: ABL engineers must be comfortable defining their own pathway to an objective 
  • End-to end ownership:  projects are delivered fully complete and ready for flight 

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence

  • ITAR Requirement
    This position requires access to information protected under US export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.  As such, US person status (including US citizens, permanent residents, asylees, and refugees) is a required qualification for this position.
