Be an integral part of leading a team that plans, develops and delivers exercises simulating cyber security incidents to improve company-wide readiness in case of an actual cyber event. As a recognized leader in the Financial Services sector, you will be influential in helping advance the Company’s effective cyber risk management processes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the delivery of cyber simulation exercises in conjunction with vendor partners as well as external private and public organizations.

• Contribute to on-going development of Cyber Security Readiness program objectives.

• Educate senior AXP leaders about key issues of concern to AXP to improve situational awareness and minimize potential negative impacts to AXP business interests

• Lead cross-functional project teams and work with internal and external business partners to determine and translate business requirements into solutions to help reduce cyber risks for American Express.

• Responsible for managing project costs, resources, change requests, risk and issues to ensure that maximum business benefit maintained as well as provision of regular project status updates.

Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal abilities with strong written and oral communication skills

• Experience planning and conducting exercises to simulate cyber security events in order to help evaluate organizational communication, decision-making and incident response processes and capabilities.

• Previous IT and business work experience including managing team(s) in both individual contributor roles and team program management functions

• Understands business goals, and can reframe information security risk discussions in business terms

• Proven ability to deliver business value through successful risk reduction activities

• Constructively engages business partners and actively and professionally drives conversations to good decisions

• Professional presence that recognizably possesses industry and business knowledge

• Technical expertise with demonstrated success in managing expectations and influencing others

• Experience working with security intelligence and security operations functions

• Requires financial acumen in terms of representing project financials

Educational requirement:

• Holds a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or other technical field

• Or has equivalent work experience - managing diverse technical teams in business settings

Preferred Additional:

• Strong familiarity with financial services industry and relevant trade associations (FSR/BITS, ABA)

• Experience working with US government agencies (Treasury, DHS, NIST) and strong understanding of the political process

• Experience with DHS’s Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP)

• Experience conducting public events, coordinating logistics, marketing, and comfortable presenting in front of audiences

• Completion of the DHS Master Exercise Practitioner Program (MEPP) • Experience working internationally and proficiency in some non-English languages

• Certification preferences: PMI or equivalent Project Management certification (e.g.. Certified Associate in Project Management, Certified Project Management Practitioner, International Project Management Association)

• Professional security certification preferred (e.g. CISSP, CISM, etc.).
